MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One person has died and another, a juvenile, was taken to an area hospital after both were ejected from a vehicle following a crash on Interstate 69. 

According to a press release from the Indiana State Police, officers, investigators, and emergency services responded to the scene around 3:05 p.m. on April 15, and attempted to perform life-saving measures including CPR and the use of an AED. 

Reports say that the driver of the vehicle was heading north on I-69 when the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into an overpass. The driver, identified as Terry A. Thomas, 64 of Martinsville was pronounced dead at the scene by the Morgan County Coroner, and the juvenile was taken by ambulance to IU Health Morgan. 

The crash caused I-69 to be closed to one lane for several hours. Multiple agencies assisted including Washington Township Fire Department, the Martinsville Fire Department, Morgan County EMS, Martinsville Police Department, Morgantown Police Department, and the Indiana State Police.

The crash is still under investigation and local law enforcement asks anyone with additional information to contact the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.
