Indiana Military Museum prepares for veterans appreciation event

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)—The Indiana Military Museum in Vincennes will honor veterans who served in the Vietnam War on August 15 and World War II veterans on September 5 and September 6.

Both events will include live battle reenactments, guest speakers and food.

Bryan Andrews, museum volunteer, said they want to express their appreciation to veterans for their bravery.

“We are going to get into the history. We’re here to keep history alive. But both events are really focused on the veterans themselves and honoring them and making sure their stories are preserved for the future. The things that they went through are pretty incredible and especially the ones that didn’t come back,” Andrews said.

Face masks will be required inside the museum and will be recommended while visitors are outdoors for both events.
