Saint Mary-of-the-Woods is taking its ‘Aspire Higher’ campaign to the next level. Today, college officials detailed one of the major initiatives of the campaign.
The school is investing seven million dollars into a renovation of Le Fer Hall. This is the only residence hall on campus, and it was built in 1923.
Saint Mary’s wants to retain the historical significance of the building, while adding updates to make it more live-able for the students. “This is their home, they think of this building as their home,” said Dr. Dottie King, SMWC President.
Not all of the work at Le Fer Hall will take place inside. There are plans to add outdoor seating space, parking and landscaping.
The college has a 22 million dollar goal for the ‘Aspire Higher’ strategic campaign.
