Illinois State Police offers a warning to truck drivers who are planning to participate in a “Slow Roll”.

According to a statement by ISP, Saturday, truck drivers planned to conduct a “Slow Roll” along a 100 mile stretch of I-57 from Marion to Effingham, IL.

ISP says that this action could cause traffic delays and potential crashes.

“Though the Illinois State Police respects the rights of citizens to express their opinions in a lawful manner, there is a great concern with any event that is designed to impede or block the normal and reasonable movement of traffic,” said ISP Southern Patrol Commander Major Chris Owen.

ISP says those who participate in events which violate Illinois law could be held liable for crashes that occur.
