ROCKVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A non-profit organization from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign raise money during the year for a fantastic cause.

They call themselves the Iliini 4,000.
The money raised goes towards cancer research and patient support services.
The bike ride they do every year starts in New York City and they make their way to San Francisco.
The entire ride is over 4,000 miles, which is where the name comes from.

Ride leaders Steve Sabatini and Mike Rotter spoke to our team about the ride. Steve said, “what’s interesting and exciting about doing it again is that we’re able to kinda support riders on this ride and help them make the best experience of the trip.”

Mike rotter said, “we’re just there to provide some of the behind the scenes work so they don’t have to worry about it, and they can just worry about the ride and enjoying themselves.”
