The town council in Hymera is standing behind it’s town marshal, even though he was arrested a few days ago.
Darrick Cullison, along with his son, was arrested on charges of assault after the infamous fight at a Hymera town board meeting.
The fracas was after the former town board had fired Cullison.
The current body re-instated him after taking office, but his arrest has cast doubt on the current situation.
The board is expected to learn more at it’s meeting next week but it’s obvious it’s loyalty is with Cullison.
Board member Carl Samm says, “If we didn’t have one, I guess we’d have to find somebody temporarily. ‘Til we find out what’s going on, as far as I know, but we aim to keep him if we can.”
Cullison and his son face assault charges after the fight, allegedly attacking then town-marshal Daryl McCullough.
They have yet to face their first court action.
