It’s been more than one week since water lines broke at the Hulman Center. The damage first occurred on April 30th, and worsened a couple days later during efforts to fix the first water line break.
Crews were on scene Wednesday continuing to make outside repairs. University officials say the exterior repairs should be done within the next three days, adding that only one lane of traffic will be blocked, if any.
Officials also say that a room inside the Hulman Center that had several inches of water is now ready to use.
Nancy Rogers, VP of University Engagement, says, “it actually will be used for graduation. This is used as a staging area, so we line up our graduate students and our faculty, and they process out of that room, so it’s in good shape to be used.”
Indiana State is now preparing for commencement activities. The Hulman Center will host Ivy Tech’s graduation Thursday night. Indiana State will hold its graduation ceremony this weekend.
