Huffines murder trial date moves to January

SULLIVAN, Ind. — A trial date for an Indianapolis woman accused of murder has been pushed back until the first of the year.

Renee S. Huffines, 40, appeared in court Wednesday for a pre-trial conference. At that time, her trial date was moved from September to Jan. 13, 2020 due to ongoing discovery in the case.

Huffines was arrested in May in connection to the death of Patricia Dorsett.

Huffines and her longtime partner Danny Wilson, Jr. were staying with Dorsett in her Sullivan County home when Dorsett was reported missing by family and friends. Her body was later found in the back of a trailer on her property.

An autopsy confirmed she died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Huffines was charged with murder, assisting a criminal and failure to report a dead body.

Wilson was charged with murder in the case. His next court appearance will be Aug. 27.
