PARIS, Illinois (WTWO/WAWV) — Horizon Health hosted its seventh annual “Back-to-School Bang” drive-thru Saturday morning at the Edgar County Fairgrounds in Paris, Ill.
Attendees participated in activities such as games, a live DJ and a dunk tank. Food and drinks were also served.
Those who entered the drive-thru received free school supplies for their children. Many vendors and community members volunteered including local banks, high-school students, firefighters and health department workers.
The event was converted into drive-thru format this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizer Christina Hoffman said the event provided children with necessary school materials and educational activities while also maintaining social distancing.
“The purpose of this event is to one, provide school supplies for our community, and also provide educational materials as well,” Hoffman said.
