“We just don’t have enough jobs around here to go get,” said Vermillion County Resident, Crystal McCammon,
That might be true for Vermillion County right now, but in the fall things could be different.
“This is a great day for Vermillion County. A lot of people don’t understand the magnitude of this park. It’s one of the unique properties in the state of Indiana for industrial development,” said Vice President of Garmong Construction Services, Dan Zuerner.
At the Vermillion Rise Mega Park a groundbreaking ceremony took place. Very soon, workers will put up a new building in this field. The expectation is, it will create jobs in two ways.
“We are hoping it will bring local construction workers to get it built, and when completion we hope they will try and market to get people here. To have jobs in the community. We lost jobs when this plant went out, and we are hoping and very positive that something is going to happen here,” said President of Vermillion County Commission, Tim Wilson.
Hope is in the air as plans get set in motion for this industrial building, and for employment in Vermilion County.
“Things have to start somewhere. Once we get it built, and try to market it and get some factory in here things should change,” said Wilson.
