Hometown Hero-Ellliott Newton
Our latest Hometown Hero is Elliott Newton.
Elliott graduated from Terre Haute South Vigo High School in 2005.
A star athlete and a member of the National Honor Society, Elliott enrolled at Brigham Young University, then served a full 2-year mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Russia. He returned to BYU to earn degrees in Russian and Middle Eastern Studies then a masters at IU in Gentral Eurasian Studies. Elliott is fluent in seven languages.
He joined the Army in 2013, completed basic and OCS at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He is a 1st Lieutenant based at Ft. Riley, KS with the 1st Infantry Division or the “Big Red One” and is currently deployed in Kuwait.
He is seriously considering the military as a career. Lieutenant Newton and his wife, Kristina have a son, Ivan.
An outstanding young man, the future is bright for our latest Hometown Hero, Lieutenant Elliott Newton.
