Hepatitis A outbreak In Vigo County related to drug use

The Vigo County Health Department determines Hepatitis A outbreak after confirming 10 cases.
The health department is unsure if these cases are connected to those in other areas of the state.
However, they can confirm that the outbreak is not food borne.
Officials say most of the cases seen in Vigo County have been spread through drug use and by sharing needles.
In a typical year, the county will see one to two cases.
People who are homeless, men who have sex with men, people in incarceration, and IV drug use population are the most at risk.
