St. Mary-of-the-Woods College celebrated a new on-campus clinic today with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The clinic provides students, faculty and staff with access to a nurse practitioner and on-call doctor.
While there is no pharmacy at the clinic, medications like antibiotics can be distributed there. These services are available not just for people on campus, but also residents who live nearby.
“While we’re not far from Terre Haute, there’s nothing local for them and so if they don’t feel well they can get immediate services”, said Dr. Dottie King, SMWC President.
St. Mary’s partnered with Union Health to make the clinic a reality.
“That’s a good feeling when we’re about improving health throughout the whole Wabash Valley and do it right here with the students and give them such good access to care is good for all”, said Steve Holman, CEO/President of Union Health.
