The United Way of the Wabash Valley’s hard work paid off in a big way today.
They were presented with a check from their Power of the Purse event in October in which hundreds of attendees donated and bought purses. The event raised over $71,000. Which was one of the largest amounts of money the event has seen.
“It goes directly to the budget of Success by Six. Which promotes programs here in town like our Mother Goose on the Loose program doing pre school education across the schools in the five county area. As well as the Real Men Read program where men of our community go and read to kindergarten children,” Richard Payonk, executive director of United Way said.
Success by Six works primarily with promoting early childhood education.
