TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Hamilton Center hosted their annual “We Live” event Saturday, which was geared toward neighborhoods surrounding Rose Park.
The event had booths from several community partners, games, giveaways, live music and free food.
“We Live” also provided free haircuts, healthcare services and around 500 bags with school supplies.
The Hamilton Center said they had a large turnout, which they have been planning for all year.
“We’ve been meeting at least once a week since January, just trying to get prepared. Last year we were rained out and we didn’t have a rain date and we were disappointed. So we wanted to make sure everyone was happy this year. A lot of community partners helped with this and we’re here today having a great time,” said Tatu Brown, outreach manager at The Hamilton Center.
The event’s purpose was to bring together undeserved families and to provide the resources they need.
