TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Today 15 programs were awarded grant money from the Hamilton Center Foundation in an effort to raise mental health awareness in the Wabash Valley.
Over $14,000 dollars in funds were awarded to the programs in the form of mini grants.
Programs plan to use this grant money to improve the overall health of residents in the Valley.
Funded programs included Healthy Families with reach in Vigo, Sullivan and Greene Counties.
Vigo County Child and Adolescent Services, Vigo County Addiction Services as well as the funding of out door activities such as hiking in all ten counties as a form of mental health treatment.
The foundation says awarding these mini grants ensures that mental health awareness is present in all aspects in the Valley.
“We just rely heavily on the support from our community partners, from individuals in the community, from employees,” explained Hamilton Center Foundation President/CEO, Margie Anshutz. “Thinking about Hamilton Center Foundation when giving philanthropically is so critical, we want to ensure mental health services are in this community.”
