Hamilton Center donates thousands of dollars of school supplies to two Vigo County schools

VIGO Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Hamilton Center employees dropped off $5,000 worth of school supplies to Deming and Benjamin Franklin Elementary Schools Friday.

It was done as part of their annual ‘We Live’ event.

‘We Live’ is usually a festival in Rose Park where school supplies, haircuts, and other services are given for free. But due to COVID-19, it took on a new format.

Every student at both schools will receive the supplies. According to the principal at Ben Franklin Elementary, it will help lift a burden for families.

“We know how hard it is to be a working parent. So we’re grateful for the assistance and from the sponsors to help those parents so they can meet those necessities,” said Tina Horrall.

Each school also received a $500 monetary donation.
