VIGO Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — It was a day of fast wheels and fun during the second day of the Griffin Bike Park Festival Saturday.
Friday night’s events started with short track racing, where bikers raced for 20 and 30 minutes at a time.
Saturday’s events included cross country racing, a lake jump, a skills clinic with a professional clinician and other fun activities for bikers.
The second day of events also included the first ever race on the park’s newest path called The Warrior Trail.
The park’s manager says it opened in May to honor fallen soldiers, but it also has another purpose.
“We built it with wheelchairs in mind. We had a little girl come out for spring break day camp and she just couldn’t ride anything out here. So we built had a trail specifically for her,” said Rich Moore, park manager.
The festival will continue through Sunday.
