The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is helping preserve a piece of Terre Haute history.

The Friends of Allen Chapel will receive a grant of $33,650 from the department. It will be used to repair and rebuild water-damaged interior portions and features of the building.

The church has been undergoing rehabilitation over two decades and is in its final phase. Proposed work includes repairing plaster walls and wood features in the sanctuary and two stair towers.
