INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Friday, Governor Eric Holcomb ordered Vigo County flags be flown at half-staff Saturday to honor the funeral of Terre Haute firefighter John Schoffstall.

Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Saturday. Holcomb asks businesses and residents to do their part in lowering flags to half-staff on behalf of Schoffstall’s contributions to the Vigo County community and for his Saturday service.

Schoffstall passed away Easter Sunday after complications from COVID-19.

WTWO will be livestreaming Schoffstall’s funeral services Saturday from the West Vigo High School parking lot. Funeral services are set to begin at 11 a.m. The public can pay their respects by driving by his casket Saturday morning.
