It’s a homicide case that has captured the attention of people far outside the Wabash Valley. Today we have new details about the suspect and the young victim who lost her life the day before Thanksgiving.
Today, Glen Ramey was formally charged with first degree murder and predatory sexual assault, that’s two counts for the rape and suffocation of 8 year old Sabrina Stauffenberg. If convicted, he could serve up to life in prison for each count.
Sabrina’s was found last Wedneday near the National Vinegar Company in Olney, Ramey was arrested just days later. Richland County Sheriff’s deputies escorted Ramey to and from court today.
As you can see in this footage, he kept his head down most of the time. During his hearing, he hardly answered the judge verbally. Sabrina’s family also sat in for today’s hearing, as you can imagine, the courtroom was full of grief and sadness.
Ramey’s bond is set at 10 million dollars with ten percent. He was appointed a public defender today. His next court appearance will be December 16.
