The wait is almost over for those who ordered Girl Scout Cookies.
Wednesday morning, over 6,100 cases of cookies were delivered to the Wabash Valley.
This year, the most popular cookie appeared to be the classic Thin Mint, with over 1,700 boxes ordered.
While the cookies are a delicious treat for the buyer, the cookie sales provide much more to the Girl Scout who sells them.
“In every box of Girl Scout Cookies, you are helping a girl go to summer camp, do programs, outdoor adventures, travel overseas, basically, you are providing her with all the leadership skills that she needs to succeed,” said Penni Sims, advocacy and community relations manager for Girl Scouts of Central Indiana.
For anyone who did not get a chance to purchase a box or two or three, it is not too late. Booth sales will be popping up across the Wabash Valley on weekends. There is even a “Cookie Finder” app available for mobile devices.
