While the animal shelter is planning to expand, Vincennes city officials are also looking to revitalize business downtown.
10 new liquor licenses, will be up for grabs for those wanting to open bars or restaurants on the downtown scene.
Mayor Joe Yochum made this proposal to the city council— as part of a Downtown Municipal Riverfront Development Project.
And it has the support of the council as well as the newly elected president.
“We’re trying to do is just foster some development in the downtown area in terms of more so with the restaurants, but I think a lot of restaurants would like to have the availability of being able to sell liquor as well,” said President of the Vincennes City Council Scott Brown.
