Gov. Eric Holcomb stopped by Terre Haute this Friday afternoon with important economic news: Terre Haute will be home to hundreds of jobs come 2024.
The German-based pet food company Saturn Petcare has invested $38 million to renovate and equip the old Pfizer manufacturing building at 411 E. Dallas Drive in the Vigo County Industrial Park for it’s first United States production and distribution facility.
“We have interviewed and looked at many states that we considered to be valuable regions for us,” said Maarten Moog of Saturn Petcare. “And Terre Haute was a natural fit because of the geographic location.”
Production at the plant will begin in the summer of 2020, and those interested may submit their resumes with the link, email@example.com.
Saturn Petcare has joined a network made up of 121 German businesses across Indiana, making Germany Indiana’s second largest foreign investor, according to a news release from the Governor’s office.
“We’re talking about 200 new jobs, these are careers,” Holcomb told WTWO. “And for a state like Indiana whose long been known as an AG powerhouse, as a state that feeds the world, feeds the nation, we’re also feeding dogs and cats now too and we’re proud of it.”
