Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology will use a $15,000,000 anonymous gift to help build new academic space. The total price tag is $29,000,000
The new building will include design space, chemistry lab, faculty space and flexible classrooms. School officials hope the building’s design will keep up with innovations in curriculum.
“We know a lot more about how people learn about science and engineering now, then we did 10-20 years ago, so our classrooms and laboratories are starting to reflect that,” said Anne Houtman, VP of Student Affairs.
The building’s design will feature a central atrium and lots of interior and exterior glass. It will be three stories and 60,000 square feet.
Groundbreaking is planned for early October, with completion expected in 2021. The new building will be located on the east side of the RHIT campus, between Moench and Myers Halls.
