Gaming bill passes House, Senate; heads to governor’s desk for signature

News

Vigo County is still on track for a casino.

The Gaming Matters bill passed both the Indiana House and Senate Wednesday night, and will now head to the governor’s desk for signature.

The bill passed the House in a 59-36 vote. The Senate vote was 37-12.

The Conference Committee report released prior to the vote included Vigo County in the language, which means a casino is still on the table for the area if the bill is signed into law.

The much debated mobile betting option was also included

Hold harmless payments for Evansville, East Chicago, Hammond, Michigan City and West Baden were also included in the report.

WTWO’s Nicole Krasean will have more on this story tonight at 11 p.m.
