Fundraisers planned to support CODA

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Baesler’s Market and the Terre Haute Police Department are both joining in the efforts to help keep residential services running at the local Coalition on Domestic Abuse.

CODA announced earlier this month that residential services would have to be suspended as of Sept. 14 unless $150,000 could be raised.

Since the announcement, the community has rallied to support the cause, raising more than $40,000 in one week.

The next fundraiser will be a cookout hosted by Baesler’s Market from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 2900 Poplar Street in Terre Haute.

Certified Angus Beef ribeye steak sandwiches, chips and a drink will be served for $7.

The THPD will hold a pizza fundraiser and bake sale from 11 a.m .to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 at the department.

Two slices of Papa Johns pizza, chips and a drink will be served for $5.

In addition to the various fundraising efforts, the Wabash Valley Community Foundation has pledged $1 for every $2 donated to CODA up to $50,000.
