Students from all over the Valley came together at Ivy Tech to get a head start on paying for college.
College Goal Sunday is a national campaign that started in Indiana, where kids can come and get assistance filling out their FAFSA.
Professionals welcomed the students and their parents, Then got straight to one of the most challenging parts college set up.. the finances.
Ivy Tech plays host for the Valley and they say, they hope this annual event can help kids be relaxed and get prepared for the next step.
“A lot of people, especially when they are first getting into it, the financial aid applicaiton can have a lot of anxiety attatched to it. So this can kind of calm them down because we have professionals here to help them and that is what we are here for,” Julie Wonderlin with Ivy Tech’s financial aid said.
If you have not filled out your FAFSA yet, the deadline is April, but some universities give out their aid first come first serve. Ivy Tech says that people can come during normal business hours even if they are not an Ivy Tech students to get help filing.
