The Vigo County Veteran’s Council held a special event yesterday to help bring revenue into their every day efforts.
The fundraiser was organized to assist those who’ve served our country.
A dance and dinner was held at the AM Vets Post 2-22 in West Terre Haute. The cost was 20 dollars a person for a pulled pork or chicken and noodle dinner along with dessert.
They could even enjoy live music, with Vigo County Commissioner Brad Anderson performing.
Money raised goes toward commodities needed for veterans in outpatient clinics, It also goes toward the Veteran’s Park.
Bricks are purchased by family members who would like to honor those who served.
“We got a lot of veterans that need help and the income of donations is slim so we thought we would try to do this to help the veterans out,” Clifford Stephens with the Veteran’s Council said.
On October 20th, the council will be at memorial stadium to place 48 bricks in memory of our service men and women.
If you’d like to come out, that ceremony will take place at 11 a-m.
