Fraternities at ISU Under Social Restriction

News

Fraternities at Indiana State University are now under “social restriction.”

University Officials say the student leadership of the Interfraternity Council placed the restriction themselves.

The restriction means that they cannot hold parties.

They can continue to recruit members and participate in philanthropic activities.

University Officials say the restriction is due to alcohol-related incidents, but is not related to the recent death of Sigma Chi Fraternity member Yiorgo Karnezis.

He died due to accidental drowning when he fell from a boat while at a Sigma Chi event in Clark County, Illinois.
