(WTWO/WAWV)-Terre Haute, IND.- The fourth annual Wabash Valley Rubber Duck Regatta took place at Fairbanks Park.
There were 16,000 yellow rubber ducks released on the Fairbanks lawn. The Regatta provides additional funding toward Terre Haute Catholic charities.
All proceeds will help the organization provide food, after school programming, shelter, and additional human and household needs.
Jennifer Buell, assistant agency director for Terre Haute Catholic Charities, said special events like these can be time consuming, but the regatta was something to look forward to.
“The Wabash Valley River Duck Regatta is one of those really fun events. We get such great volunteers who help us throughout the entire duck season to help adopt out those 16,000 ducks and so many people that we get to meet throughout the entire process who are just so happy to be able to come and adopt their ducks, to see a fun event that this has always been, and to be part of giving back to their community.”
