Foster Parents Bill Of Rights Moves Forward

District 38 Indiana State Senator Jon Ford is celebrating the efforts to establish a Foster Parents Bill of Rights.

The bill, which was authored by Ford, would require the Indiana Department of Child Services to enact a Foster Parent Bill of Rights, on Thursday, it passed the Indiana Senate by a vote of 48-0.

“I think this will help foster parents because it will set a clear line of goals of what they’re supposed to do and their expectations,” said Ford.

Ford says the bill of rights will help foster parents, who in some cases, don’t feel like they have a voice.

The measure will now move on to the House.
