TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Work continues on a new V.A. Clinic in Terre Haute.

Friday, a former S.S. Senator who helped make the project possible made an appearance in the Valley. Joe Donnelly was a featured guest at the Pperating Engineering Hall Local 841 on U.S. 41.
He delivered a message about the American Rescue Plan.

The former senator also talked with us about the Veteran’s Affairs Clinic. He says as a senator, he worked to bring the state-of-the-art clinic to the Valley. Donnelly says it was an effort that took a lot of perserverance.

“The number of committee hearings we had, making sure that we could include it in budgets, making sure that everyone in Washington understood the importance of a veteran’s clinic for Terre Haute, for the Wabash Valley, for the whole region and that our veterans receive, for the amazing service they gave our country, they receive the health care they deserve,” Donnelly said.

Construction on the $40 million project started last year on Terre Haute’s east side. It’s anticipated to be finished by this August.
