A Terre Haute woman is behind bars after a drug investigation turned into something much more.
On Friday afternoon shortly before 1:40 P.M., ISP detectives from the Drug Enforcement Section arrested a Vigo County woman on six different counts.
Heather Riggs, 42, of Terre Haute, was arrested without incident and booked in the Vigo County Jail.
The arrest came after a two week investigation that originally began as a drug investigation as mentioned above.
During the investigation, detectives learned that proceeds were being paid from a bank account associated with Victory Christian Center.
Detectives learned that Riggs was in charge of the bank accounts and handling of money for Victory Christian Center.
It was revealed that Riggs was writing checks to her heroin supplier and herself to be cashed.
The investigation also revealed she was taking cash from the offerings collected during church services.
Riggs is alleged to be responsible for taking over $75,000 over the past 14 months.
It was also discovered that on at least one occasion, Riggs had small children with her during a drug transaction.
Riggs faces charges of check fraud, theft, neglect of a dependent, forgery, dealing in a schedule I,II, or III controlled substance and dealing in a schedule IV controlled substance.
