Fish fry to raise money for new school playground equipment

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – You can help support efforts to improve a local elementary school’s playground while enjoying a delicious meal this weekend.

The Sugar Grove PTO is hosting a Jonah Fish Fry fundraiser on Saturday.

The drive-through style event will take place at Memorial Methodist Church from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Organizers hope a lot of people will come out and help them raise money for new playground equipment at the elementary school.

“We feel it’s so important for kids to stay active no matter what age they are and a lot of our equipment is older. Some of it is built more toward younger kids and we wanted something specifically for the older elementary kids where they can have fun, they can get active and they can climb, and just have a great time. Get that energy out so when they go back into class, they can be focused and ready to learn,” says Sugar Grove PTO member Djanedi Cardwell.
