VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: Several local emergency services responded to a rollover crash with an entrapped person near the intersection of East Woodsmall Drive and Louisville Road.
According to a press release from the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, the driver was uninjured, but seatbelted into the car and unable to get out on their own. The Riley Fire Department extracted the driver, who then was checked out by Transcare and signed a signature of release form.
The driver was headed south on Lousiville Road and stated they were tired and believed to have fallen asleep. The vehicle then crossed lanes and hit trees and a wooded area before rolling over.
No citations were given and no drugs or alcohol were involved.

According to Vigo County Dispatch as of 2:00 p.m. the area remains closed while crews cleaned up the scene and drivers are asked to avoid the area.

According to Vigo County Central Dispatch, the single-vehicle crash is located near the intersection of East Woodsmall Drive and Louisville Road. A portion of both roads in the area were shut down as a result.
The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police responded to the scene.
No official word has been provided regarding potential injuries involved or what caused the crash.
