CLINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A home in the Fairview Park neighborhood of Clinton suffered damage from an afternoon fire.

According to Fairview Fire Chief Neil Costello, a home on South Davis Street caught fire Sunday afternoon.

A mother and teenage son live in the home. The mother was down the street and the son was inside the home, but was able to make it out and alert neighbors, who called 911.

Crews arrived on scene to heavy smoke, and Costello says the home suffered serious internal damage, but is not a total loss.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Costello says a fire marshal will be looking into physical evidence Monday.
