Final Debate for Indiana Gubernatorial Candidates

Tuesday night, the three candidates for Indiana governor faced off in their third and final debate this election season.

It was held at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville.

During the hour long debate, they answered questions ranging from unemployment to abortion and birth control to how they would help Hoosiers who are dependent on illegal and prescription drugs.

“We’re gonna have to focus on making sure that we’re preventing, that we’re enforcing and that we’re treating, most importantly, the families and individuals that are caught up in this scourge,” says Republican Candidate Eric Holcomb.

“For the dealer and the trafficker, they need locked up.  To the violent criminal, they need locked up.  But, to many Hoosiers, we need to realize this is a medical issue and we need to treat it as such,” explains John Gregg, Democratic candidate.

“We need to stop treating drug addiction as a crime.  We need to treat it as an illness.  We need to decriminalize a lot so that when people need help they can step forward without fear of being arrested,” adds Libertarian Candidate Rex Bell.

We will air Tuesday night’s s debate in it’s entirety.

You can watch it this coming Sunday, October 30th, at 2 p.m. on WAWV.
