If you’ve been driving around downtown Terre Haute, then you’ve probably noticed it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
And tonight, the holiday season officially kicked off with the annual “Miracle on 7th Street Festival.” It’s a two day event that brings a little early holiday spirit to the Wabash Valley.
Families got to partake in several fun events downtown, including the lighting of the Christmas tree.
And on Saturday, the “Light Your Way Parade” is guaranteed to put anyone in the spirit of the season. Organizers say this event wouldn’t be possible without the strong support of the community.
“Uh, it’s incredible. It’s very inspiring to be a part of a community that embraces an event like this. This parade and the Miracle on 7th Street event, reminds us that family is important, and enjoying one another and enjoying our community and all that, and the love we have for each other,” says Parade Chair Karah Ellis.
If you didn’t get a chance to make it out tonight, don’t worry. You can join in on the festivities Saturday from 3 to 9 P.M. And there will be several fun events, taking place including an outdoor ice slide called “Snowzilla.”
There’s also a huge snow globe, a gingerbread house making contest and all other sorts of fun activities.
