Female Arrested in Relation to Homicide

TERRE HAUTE, IN - An 18 year old woman, identified as Lakrista Julian was arrested by Terre Haute Police for her association with a homicide at 65 S. 18th Street in Terre Haute.

Police learned around 2 p.m. Friday that a man admitted to a third party that he shot and killed his roommate at the Terre Haute residence. He allegedly admitted that the body of the victim, identified as 26 year old Robert Olson, was still in the basement.

Police obtained a search warrant to the home and observed the male suspect and Julian driving along U.S. 41. Police followed the suspect to Linwood Street at the Garden Quarter Apartments, where Julian resided at 8016 Linwood Street Apt. E. Several Terre Haute officers arrived to assist and within minutes, gunfire was exchanged between the male suspect and officers.

This resulted in the death of officer Rob Pitts.

After several hours, Julian exited the apartment and was taken to the police station. When the Terre Haute Police Special Response Team entered the apartment, they found the suspect was dead. His identity is pending autopsy results

Lakrista Julian was charged with obstruction of justice in relation to the South 18th Street homicide and transported to Vigo County Jail. Her bond is set at $25,000 no 10% a court date is scheduled for Monday, May 7th at 9 a-m.

Terre Haute police are still investigating both homicide cases.
