Terre Haute, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Authorities have released the name of the man who died during an early morning fire Tuesday.
According to Vigo County Coroner Dr. Susan S. Amos, 76-year-old Vernon Matlock died of a heart attack after a fire broke out at his home in the 2900 block of Fort Harrison.
The official cause of death was listed as heart disease.
Terre Haute firefighters arrived at the house around 12:25 Tuesday morning.
