CARLISLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Family and friends of Mezmariah Wilson gathered Saturday evening in Carlisle, Ind. to remember the slain teen’s life, celebrate memories and release balloons.
Wilson, a 15-year-old girl from Carlisle, was shot and killed during an altercation that took place last month when two large groups of individuals gathered outside, police said.
Family and friends of Wilson gathered at the corner of Lewis and Ledgerwood streets in Carlisle where the shooting took place. Loved ones wrote messages on the balloons prior to releasing them into the sky.
A petition was present for those in attendance to sign in support of justice for a life gone too soon.
