This week, the NASCAR Association unveiled the design of a new car that honors a Terre Haute man.
Kyle Busch will be driving a car designed to honor fallen soldiers for the Memorial Day weekend race, the Coca Cola 600.
The name of Sgt. Dale Griffin of Terre Haute will be on the car. Sgt. Griffin died in the line of duty in 2009.
The race will be paused halfway through for a moment of reflection.
“It obviously means a lot to have the opportunity to work with NASCAR and NASCAR Salutes program, and to be able to honor and remember the fallen that have given their lives and their sacrifices to their families, and to be able to have us have our freedom and..um..it means a lot to have Memorial Day weekend here in Charlotte,” Busch said during a press conference Wednesday.
