TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Secular Franciscans gave free breakfast for the community Saturday morning.

The breakfast is hosted every fourth Saturday of every month at St. Benedict’s Church.

Due to COVID-19, those who needed to food were able to get their items in to-go bags.

Volunteers filled the bags with pancakes, biscuits and gravy and canned goods.

One volunteer said she was honored to help out.

“I feel very humble to be able to help people. I also feel very blessed that I am in a position that I can do that. Everybody that comes up is very grateful, very thankful and just appreciative and it’s just something we can do,” said Diane Smith.

Other volunteers said they are glad to do their part.
