Event Provides Spooktacular Time in Terre Haute

They say the third time is a charm.

And Wednesday night, that certainly held true for an annual Halloween event in Terre Haute.

Hundreds of kids and their parents packed the Children’s Museum in downtown Terre Haute.

And they had a “spook-tacular” time at the third annual Healthy Spooktacular Halloween.

This event had costumes, candy and fun activities.

However, it also helped educate parents on how to improve their little one’s health and safety.

“What we intend is for these kids to grow up learning good, appropriate, healthy habits and we’ve seen kids come through this health fair and every year and getting older and getting more fit,” says Jack Jaeger, with RHIC Simulation Center, which sponsored the event.

Dr. Erik Southard / Parent:  “It’s not focused on candy. It’s focused on learning and activity and engagement and that’s what makes it unique,” adds Dr. Erik Southard, a parent who attended the event.

This unique event drew 200 people last year, but coordinators say this year a record 510 people attended.
