Emergency Lineman Safety

News

It’s obvious when dealing with electricity things can get very dangerous and in some cases even fatal.

We today with Aaron Flesher, he is a lineman.

He tells me they take precautions with every job to ensure their safety. But just like anything there are accidents, like the tragic death yesterday.

That’s why using their years of training on the job and in the classroom is so important. Also being sure they have on all of their protective equipment is hugely important. Aaron says the best thing you can do is pay attention at all times.

“Because you can’t see the electricity you can’t smell it, but when you finally do see it or hear it, it’s too late. It’s already got you.”

In case of an emergency the lineman are trained in CPR. They also have AED systems in many of the trucks.
