An elderly female was rescued after driving it into a pond Tuesday night.
The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department and Honey Creek Fire Department responded to E. Crossing Blvd. at Winthrop Ct. after a vehicle reportedly crashed into a small retaining pond.
Water rescue crews were able to pull the woman from the vehicle. She was transported to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute for treatment of cold exposure, according to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department.
According to authorities at the scene, the woman was attempting to turn around at a vacant building when she accidentally drove into the pond.
