TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A mother duck was reunited with her eight baby ducklings this evening in Terre Haute.

A viewer called our newsroom telling us that she heard baby ducklings in a sewer drain at the intersection of Margaret Avenue and 25th Street in Terre Haute. We called officials with the Terre Haute Fire Department to see if they could assist with a rescue.

Fire crews were on scene for an hour rescuing the ducklings, with mom nearby.

Fire officials tell us officials with city sewer plant helped them to cut through three sewer crates to get to the ducklings. Once all were rescued, fire officials moved the ducklings and mom away from the intersection and toward a nearby field of tall grass.
