TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Encouraging trends can be found on the Vigo County School Corporation’s updated COVID-19 dashboard. Cases and quarantines are down.
Three students with campus contact tested positive for the coronavirus in the past 14 days, down from seven last week. Staff positive tests were down one in the same time frame, from five last week to four this week. The number of students actively quarantining is 91, down from 151 last week, and staff quarantines have dropped from 30 to 23.
“It’s heartening to see the numbers decline since the start of school,” said Bill Riley, director of communications with the district. “We hope that our efforts throughout the school day—things like masking, distancing, and sanitizing—are helping to stop the spread of COVID-19.”
The district reminds families to continue assessing their child each day for symptoms of COVID-19 to keep our community safe.
