Indiana’s economy is strong and the future looks good.
That was a big part of the message presented at the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce’s Groundhog Day Economic Forecast meeting.
The host of Inside Indiana Business, Gerry Dick, spoke at the event.
He says Indiana has low unemployment, high consumer confidence and a strong housing market. All positives.
But the Indiana economy also faces some challenges. There are several jobs in the state that can’t be filled because applicants lack the right skills and training.
He also says the proposed downtown convention center could be a very good thing for Terre Haute, but it will take time.
Conventions, tourism and meetings are big money makers.
